Hong Kong

We made it to Hong Kong!!

After a very long journey we are finally in Hong Kong. First the terminal was evacuated at JFK and that set us back nearly four hours.Every passenger had to be rescreened before the flight could leave, all of our luggage was placed on the plane and the flight could not take off until all the passenger's we're matched with their luggage. So after about four hours we were ready to go and we taxied to the runway after several minutes the caption announced that the plane had to return to the gate due to mechanical problems. Ok another hour wasted sitting on the plane. Then to make matters worse the flight crew had exceeded their time limit and we were diverted to Seoul, Korea until another crew could be found. Our 18 hour direct flight turned in to a 24 hour nightmare. We sat on the plane for a full twenty four hours and for everyone that thought Seth might have a difficult time with the flight, he did fantastic and could not have been any more well behaved the entire grueling twenty four hours. We finally arrived at our hotel at 1am Monday morning and could not crawl in to bed fast enough! We woke up and headed to Stanly Market and to do some sight seeing in this wonderful city.

We think we figured it out

After a week of not being able to assess our blog I think we figured out a way to blindly post. Will attempt an update later today.Sorry for the delay for all of you who want to follow us. Seth's blog was a .com not a blogspot so we are finding it almost impossible to blog on this site. But we think we figured it out and will share our journey.

One Day To Go!!!!!!!

We are finally at the end of the paper trail to bring our son home.It has been a long and sometimes tedious journey, but have no doubts, well worth the hoops we've jumped through. In about 36hrs we will board a plane for the last time as a family of four and return to the states as a family of five.We will fly to Hong Kong for a week of sight seeing and touring before heading to Beijing for another week of sightseeing. All Seth keeps talking about is going to the "China Wall" so that's definitely on our agenda. Then the day before Brayden's second birthday we will be united with him and start a whole new journey to bring him home.As I type this blog we can't stop thinking about his foster family and what they must be feeling. They have showed Tian Cai unconditional love and for that we are forever grateful to this family divided by so many miles. We will try and keep this blog updated but as we know blogging in China can be challenging. If we have time we will post once more before leaving if not, then see you in Hong Kong!!

Travel Assignment Issued!!

We were notified last evening that China has issued our family the travel assignment that we have been so eagerly anticipating, what this means is after we receive our consulate appointment the last and final document we need, we can travel to China and pick up our little guy!!! Consulate appointments usually take 48 hours to receive after your (TA) has been issued. It will be almost two years to the day that we received Seth's TA and Consulate appointment and looks like we will be traveling along the same timeline. We can't wait to get to China and have our little boy in our arms. Hope to be traveling within the next few weeks!
